Russia - Order of St. Anne, founded 1735, modified in 1797, 2nd class cross with imperial crown, gold and enamel, the branches enameled dark red, angled with floral motifs partially amatized and burnished, the crown chased gold, the decorations painted with enamel (small surface chip on the lower branch, accidents and missing on three branches on the reverse), numerous repeated hallmarks on the crown, trigger guard and under the enamel of the cross on the reverse : IK for Julius Keibel (official supplier to the Chapter of Imperial Orders from 1862 to 1882), of illegible date (--)6(-), of court supplier and title 56, without ribbon. 73.1 x 43.2 mm, gross weight: 20.25 g Russia, St. Petersburg, ca. 1860. In use from 1828 to 1874, the "imperial crown" added to 1st and 2nd class jewelry was a special class, a mark of special imperial favor. VG to TTB
