Rouen Earthenware plate with decoration in blue monochrome in the center of coats of arms in two shields supported by two hounds drawn up under a crown of marquis, the wing decorated with lambrequins, groups of fruits and draperies. Manufacture of Poterat. Beginning of the 18th century. D. 23 cm. Slight shock. The coat of arms of azure, with a dextrochere of silver, holding 3 lilies of garden of the same are those of Nicolas Desmaretz, marquis of Maillebois, nephew of Colbert, appointed intendant of finances and State counsellor in 1678 then general controller of finances in 1708. Provenance: Former Tumin collection, June 11, 1936, lot 74. A similar plate was in the Jean Bloch collection, sale Paris, Me Ader, Palais Galliera, December 2, 1961, lot 31.
