Conseil des Cinq-Cents, identity medal of the type of the year V by Gatteaux, octagonal in silver, on the obverse, a beam of lictor topped by a phrygian cap laurel, framed by branches of oak and laurel in front of two horns of plenty, legend "FRENCH REPUBLIC", in the exergue "REPRES. DU PEUP L'AN V.", on the reverse, a snake biting its tail surrounds the tables of the Law inscribed "CONSTITUTION DE L'AN III", in front of a level, around it "CONSEIL DES CINQ-CENTS", engraved in italics "F. A. BOISSY", surmounted by a transverse ornamental bracket. Nice patina. 44 mm France, end of the XVIIIth century. François, Antoine de Boissy d'Anglas (1756-1826), lawyer, deputy of the Tiers-État of the district of Annonay to the States General of 1789, deputy of Ardèche to the National Constituent Assembly then National Convention from 1792 to 1795 (Girondins), to the Council of Five Hundred from 1795 to 1797. He was appointed to the Tribunate in 1801, then member of the Conservative Senate in 1804, and peer of France in 1814. Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour and Count of the Empire. TTB
