EASTERN IRAN, NICHAPOUR - 10th century A high-sided, carinated clay ceramic bowl with sgraffito decoration of palmettes and stylized epigraphic motifs, overlaid with ochre, brown and green glazes (Fractures and small missing parts). Diameter : 14,5 cm ; Height. 10 cm high This bowl corresponds to the "Color-splashed ware" classification of Charles W. Wilkinson in his book Nishapur, 1973. See pp. 76-77 for similar decorations.
