Kingdom of Hawaii Order of Kapiolani, gold and enamel commander's jewel, three-part centers, chased crown partially burnished and amatized (surface chips to the enamels of the branches, missing medallion on the upper branch), tie complete. 84 x 54,5 mm, gross weight : 28 g France, late 19th century. TB Founded around 1880 by King Kalakaua I (1836-1891) in honor of his ancestor Kapiolani the Great, this order rewarded services to the Hawaiian people. It was divided into seven classes (including 30 commanders) and two medals. It was no longer awarded after the proclamation of the republic in 1893.
