Luba stool (D-R Congo) Emblem of power, this type of stool with a female caryatid is characteristic of the Luba country. The figure is traditionally shown kneeling, holding the circular seat on her head with both hands. Note the scarification marks on her body, and the beautiful braid falling in an arc on her back. Wood with a beautiful brown patina, small visible accidents.
