In-4, chestnut morocco, copper inset on the first plate, spine with 5 nerves, interior framing with floral fillets and irons, gilt edges, cover and spine (Yseux sc. de Thierry-Simier). Monod, I-2273 /// (3f.)-162-(1f.). Second illustrated edition containing 16 original color etchings by Chas Laborde including the frontispiece, a large title vignette and 14 plates out of text. Edition of 276 copies, this one of 15 Japon impérial, second paper after an old Japon. Copy containing a handwritten page by Carco, an original drawing used for the illustration, a copperplate used for the illustration, here set in the binding, the etchings in 3 states, first state, black state and final state in colors, and 3 rejected proofs also in 3 states. The title vignette is in 2 states, black state and final state in colors. A very nice copy perfectly bound by Yseux.
