William SHAKESPEARE. Antony and Cleopatra. Paris, Lucien Vogel, 1921. Small in-4, publisher's vellum illustrated on the first plate with the title in palladium letters on a bistre background. Monod, II-10280 / Naville, 156 /// 110-(1f.). First edition of André Gide's translation, illustrated by Drésa with 2 plates out of the text, 6 bands and numerous initials and culs-de-lampe. This translation was commissioned by Ida Rubinstein in 1915 and was performed at the Opera in June 1920. Ex-dono on a flyleaf to Albert Sarraut very affectionately / this beautiful translation / LLano illegible name. Provenance: Albert Sarraut Collection
