MEISSEN Porcelain statuette representing a comedian playing lute standing on an oval base, wearing green pants, a black vest with yellow buttons and a purple cloth on the left arm and arm and left shoulder. Model by Johann Joachim Kaendler created in 1739. 18th century, circa 1740. H. 17.5 cm. Missing the thumb of the left hand, missing and restoration to the keys of the lute. 4 000/6 000 € This figure is inspired by the musician painted by Nicolas Lancret in the Conversation Galante (Wallace Collection, London). It has been proposed to recognize Mezzetin or Scaramouche (see Angela Gräfin von Wallwitz, Celebrating KAendler, Meissen Porcelain Scultpure, 2006, no. 9, pp. 66-69 and Ulrich Pietsch, Meißner Porzellanplastik von Gottlied Kirchner und Johann Joachim Kaendler, 2006, no. 88, pp. 63-64).
