MEISSEN Porcelain covered round oille pot resting on four feet in console, decorated with rocaille motives heightened with gold gold, the catch of the lid formed of a lemon, mushrooms and cauliflower, relief decoration of flowering branches named Gotzkowsky-Relief and polychrome decoration of bunches of botanical flowers, gold braid on the edges. Marked: crossed swords in blue. 18th century, circa 1745-1747. H. 28.5 cm, D. 27 cm. A crack and gold wear. 800/1000 € This oille pot was probably part of the service offered by Augustus III in 1747 to René-Louis de Voyer, marquis d'Argenson, French Minister of Foreign Affairs, in gratitude for his role in negotiating the marriage between Marie-Joseph of Saxony and the Dauphin. The service offered by the Court of Saxony to the Marquis d'Argenson is specifically described with flowers in relief under the enamel and painted reserves of natural flowers, the golden edges (mit den unter der Glassur erhabenen Blumen und in den Schildern mit natürl. Blumen gemalhlt,, auch goldenen Rand). The service consisted of 8 round terrines with in two sizes.
