MEISSEN Pair of oval porcelain potpourri in the shape of a gourd on a terrace a terrace, decoration in relief and polychrome of flowered branches and polychrome decoration of insects. Marked: crossed swords in blue. 18th century, circa 1745-50. H. 14 cm. The metal lids reported and chips to the flowers. 600/800 € This form is inspired by the soft porcelain pot-pourris of Saint-Cloud porcelain of the years 1730-1740, see for example the pot-pourri in the Metropolitan Museum of New York and reproduced by Bertrand Rondot, Discovering the Secrets of Soft-Paste Porcelain at The Saint-Cloud Manufactory, cz. 1690-1766¸1999, no. 164, p. 218.
