MENNECY Two groups in white enamelled soft porcelain with two figures representing a young girl playing the drum and a young boy playing the viola girl playing the drum and a young boy playing the viola sitting on a circular terrace. Marked : D.V. in hollow. 18th century, circa 1760. H. 17 cm. Small chips. A similar group was part of the former Chavagnac collection, sale Paris Drouot, June 19-21 1911, lot 147). Another is in the British Museum in London (Aileen Dawson, French Porcelain in the British Museum, 1994, n° 61, pp. 60-61. A polychrome group of the same model is in the Hartford at the Hartford Museum (Clare Le Corbeiller and Linda Roth, French Eighteenth-Century Porcelain at the Wadsworth Atheneum, 2000, n°39, pp.69-70).
