Gustave FLAUBERT. [Three tales]. The Legend of Saint Julian the Hospitaller. - Hérodias. - Un coeur simple. Paris, Ferroud, 1912-1913. 3 volumes in-12, emerald-green morocco, five straight gilded fillets interlaced with a listel of mosaic morocco in various colors (red, mastic and havana), 4-nerved spines decorated in the same way, interior framing with reprise of the black and gilded fillet decoration, gilded heads, cover and spine, common slipcase (Franz). Monod, I-4640-4646-4725 /// I. (2f.)-83-(1f.) / II. (2f.)-93-(1f.) / III. (2f.)-106-(1f.). Reunion of three Flaubert tales published by Ferroud, and illustrated with hors-texte and in-text etchings by Gaston Bussière for La Légende (22) and Hérodias (20) and Auguste Leroux for Un coeur simple (22). Edition of 1,000 copies, these being one of 60, here on Japon impérial (respectively nos. 61, 55 and 32), containing a triple state of the illustrations (definitive state, state with remarks and pure etching). A fine copy, despite unevenly faded spines.
