SAINT-CLOUD Covered round oille pot in white enameled soft porcelain with relief decoration of gadroons and cranes on flowered terraces in the Kakiemon style, the side handles in the shape of a smiling chimera mask, the lid handle in the shape of a seed. 18th century, circa 1730-1740. H. 25 cm. Restoration to the lid grip. Provenance : Pierre de Regaini A comparable terrine is preserved at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and reproduced in the exhibition catalog edited by Bertrand Rondot, Discovering the Secrets of Soft-Paste Porcelain at the Saint-Cloud Manufactory, ca. 1690-1766, Bard Graduate Center, New York, 1999, no. 98, p. 180.
