This rectangular box is made from modern Proboscidian ivory, and more specifically from Elephantidae. In fact, the parameters for recognizing Elephantidae ivory are clearly visible in the form of the guilloches typical of this family. The original appearance of the raw ivory material has been altered by cutting and polishing. A beautiful antique patina characterizes this ivory.
