First printing of this Fermiers généraux edition, one of the most valuable and successful editions of La Fontaine's Contes. It contains two portraits, that of La Fontaine after Rigaud and that of Eisen after Vispré, and 80 figures by Eisen, engraved by Aliamet, Baquoy, Choffard..., 4 vignettes and 53 culs-de-lampe by Choffard. A very fine copy with the Cas de conscience and Diable de Papefiguière figures in uncovered condition.
