The three components of this writing set are made from the ivory of the modern Proboscidean, more specifically Elephantidae. In fact, the parameters for recognizing Elephantidae ivory are clearly visible in the form of the guilloches typical of this family. Chiselling, sculpting and polishing were carried out to modify the original appearance of the raw ivory material.
