Earthenware plate with contoured rim and polychrome patriotic "flag" decoration in the center of a crowned escutcheon, three fleur-de-lis, crossed with a flag at half-mast, a Phrygian cap on a pike, fifes and a drum. Below, the inscription: "W la liberté".
The "W" in Nevers stands for Vive.
This decoration is an evolution of the pre-Revolutionary "flag" decoration.
Late 18th century, pre-Revolutionary period.
