Gospel translated into French by Catulle Mendès from the manuscript of the Abbey of St. Wolfgang, decorated with color compositions in the text by Carlos Schwab. The manuscript was unearthed by Catulle Mendès during a trip to Salzkammergut. The text is said to have been composed by Saint Peter according to the Virgin Mary. Each page is decorated with floral or decorative frames of varying richness, enriched by 32 figurative compositions, 14 of which are full-page. Binding rubbed with the beginnings of splits at the hinges.
