ALCORA Pair of fine white glazed earthenware groups allegorizing the Continents, Europe in the form of a woman seated on a reclining horse, holding a scepter and a scarf of the Order of the Holy Spirit, Asia in the form of a woman seated on a dromedary, a fire pot, a turban and fruit at her feet. Models by Julian Lopez. Late 18th century, early 19th century. H. 28 cm and 31 cm, L. 28 cm. Some restorations, missing the crown on Europe's knee. A similar figure of Europe is preserved in the Barcelona Museum and reproduced in the catalog El Esplendor de Alcora, Ceramica del s. XVIII, Barcelona, October 5, 1994-March 16, 1995, no. 482, p. 121.
