Encoignure in Parisian varnish, opening with one leaf (the reverse painted red and gold), the white marble top (reported at a later date) resting on uprights terminated by trefoil motifs joined by a scalloped apron, decorated with a scene in the Chinese taste; (restorations; accidents, notably cracks in the front). Attributed to Louis Foureau. Louis XV period. H : 85 cm, L (one side) : 51 cm Cabinetmaker Louis Foureau (received his master's degree in 1755) specialized in Parisian varnish furniture imitating Far Eastern lacquer. A similar corner cabinet, stamped by Foureau, was sold in Paris, étude de Maigret, December 4, 2013, lot 196.
