Gustave VIOLET (1873 - 1952) "Le Docteur à cheval" or "Traspassant la Serra", model created in 1914. Proof in terra cotta with black patina (small chips and wear to patina). Marked Sant-Marti - France on reverse. Height 51 cm - Length 56 cm - Depth 27.5 cm History: Gustave Violet was inspired to create this subject by the doctor Jean Arrous, who would cross the Pyrenees in all weathers to visit his patients during the cholera epidemic that struck the Prades area in 1911. Model exhibited in Barcelona (1914), Perpignan (1972, 2013), Thuire (1991) and Prades (1914).
