Gustave VIOLET (1873 - 1952) "Le Docteur à cheval" or "Traspassant la Serra", model created in 1914. Terracotta proof with silver patina imitating metal (stains, cracks and patina wear). Unsigned. Height 51 cm - Length 56 cm - Depth 27.5 cm History: Gustave Violet was inspired to create this subject by doctor Jean Arrous, who crossed the Pyrenees on horseback to visit his patients during the cholera epidemic that struck the Prades area in 1911. Model exhibited in Barcelona (1914), Perpignan (1972, 2013), Thuire (1991) and Prades (1914).
