Gustave VIOLET (1873 - 1952) "Antoine Saporte", model created circa 1906. Reddish-brown terracotta proof (patina worn and slightly missing). Monogrammed GV and justified 1/50. Height 41 cm Small chips, scratches, missing parts and patina worn. History: Antoine Saporte, manager of the Chalet-Hotel des Cortalets in Canigó, was a friend of Gustave Violet, who produced several copies of his bust. This model was exhibited in Perpignan (1907, 1930, 1949), Barcelona (1914, 1924) and Prades (2014).
