Gustave VIOLET (1873 - 1952) - Lot 93
Gustave VIOLET (1873 - 1952) "Antoine Saporte", model created circa 1906. Proof in terracotta with a reddish-brown patina (wear and small patina chips). Monogrammed GV and justified 1/50. Height: 41 cm History: Antoine Saporte, manager of the Chalet-Hotel des Cortalets in Canigó, was a friend of Gustave Violet, who produced several copies of his bust. Model exhibited in Perpignan (1907, 1930, 1949), Barcelona (1914, 1924) and Prades (2014). A similar model is currently in the collections of the Musée Hyacinthe Rigaud in Perpignan (n°inv. 11.11.1).
