Gustave VIOLET (1873 - 1952)
"Seated Woman" or "Dona assentada", model created circa 1902-1903.
Subject in terra cotta with black patina imitating metal.
Canigó stamp.
Height: 19.5 cm (total)
History: this model was one of the first made by Gustave Violet when he arrived in Prades, before setting up his workshop in Sant Martí. He used the Deprade potter's kiln in Codalet and marked his pieces with his first "Canigó" seal.
