NEVERS Earthenware contoured rim plate with polychrome decoration of a priest declaring to two cherubs seated on a terrace "je vous annonce le bonheur de la France" ("I announce the happiness of France"). The earthenware maker has translated the obligation for priests to read and comment on the decrees of the assembly to citizens from February 23, 1790. Late 18th century, revolutionary period.
