First size soft porcelain litron cup and saucer with polychrome decoration of foliage friezes and gold braids in imitation of fabric.
Marked: LL interlaced, painter's mark for Jean-Baptiste-Emmanuel Vandé père (active 1753-79) and gilder's mark for François Drand (active 1764-81)
18th century, circa 1775.
H. 6.8 cm, D. 14 cm.
A cup and saucer of the same design, perhaps ours, was in the former Chappey collection (see Frédéric Masson, "La porcelaine de Sèvres, collection Chappey", Les Arts, 1905, p. 12.
