Round green composition box, the lid set with a miniature, probably Paris circa 1756-1762 depicting a portrait on ivory (Elephantidae spp*) of a woman on a gray background, the yellow gold frame decorated in repoussé with friezes of flowers, the interior lined with straw marquetry with flower motifs, (sputters, missing, bands to be fixed, the miniature probably set later, traces of restoration). Diameter: 6 cm Gross weight: 62.8 g *An ivory specimen of Elephantidae spp (I/A) pre-Convention, prior to July 1, 1947, and therefore compliant with EC regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 art.2-Wmc, and prior to July 1, 1975, and therefore compliant with the French decrees of May 4, 2017 and January 2022. To leave the European Union, a CITES re-export permit is required.
