COVERED TERRIN in silver, Master silversmith: Jacques-Pierre MARTEAU, received in 1757, Paris, 1774-1775, standing on four feet with acanthus leaf clasps, the body and lid plain, the handles foliate, the lid grip a burst pomegranate with silver lining: Master silversmith: Pierre VALLIÉRES, received in 1776, Paris, 1784-1785 (with yellow labels S.L./2830.I/C, scratches, repolish, shocks, traces of restoration, leaf of the grip to be refixed), Length : 40.5 cm ; Height : 26 cm ; Gross weight: 5055 g ATTACHED is a catalog of the sale, Chez Me BAUDOUIN, May 20, 1942, Hôtel Drouot, lot 67. Provenance : - Sale by Me BAUDOUIN, May 20, 1942, lot 97; - French private collection. According to the 1942 catalog, it was part of the 1938 exhibition of French silverware at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. However, it does not appear in the exhibition catalog: F.
