In-12, burgundy morocco, stippling on the boards, spine with 4 ornate nerves, gilt edges (modern binding). Repeatedly reprinted as Nécessaire à toutes personnes employées à la Recette des Déniers Royaux et aux Habitants des Environs de la Capitale. An engraved title and 16 double-page maps, including a general map serving as an intelligence to the 15 Feuilles de l'Archêveché de Paris. The 16 maps are framed and delicately colored at the time. They show the area around Paris from the south of the Bishopric of Beauvais to Étampes and from Neauphle Le Château to Dampmartin. They include roads, woods, mountains, villages and hamlets, castles, pleasure houses and private homes... Copy in an elegant modern burgundy morocco binding. The title specifies that the work contains leaves on which the owner can note his observations, and the binder has placed blank leaves in fine and, along the gutter, a space for a pencil. A perfect copy, with the exception of a tiny dark stain at the bottom of the first cover and two ink stains on the verso of two maps.
