An edition of these Pensées sur l'interprétation de la nature, bearing the date 1754 and the place of publication London, has long been described as original. We refer you to Tchemerzine's lengthy note on this work, in which he establishes that the text originally appeared without place or name in 1753 under the title De l'interprétation de la nature, before being reprinted with numerous additions and variants the following year, still without place or name and with a slightly modified title. The copy is enhanced by a copper-engraved vignette mounted on the flyleaf as a frontispiece. Covers and spines slightly rubbed.
