[XVIIth century BINDINGS]. Small in-4, red morocco, the boards decorated with a grand décor of fillets, double fillets, chains, roulettes, special irons with papal arms in the center, richly ornamented 5-rib spine. Beautiful binding with the arms of Innocent X (1574-1655), 236th bishop, elected pope in 1644. On: [Jean de Roye]. Histoire de Loys XI Roy de France, et des choses memorables advenuës de son Regne, depuis l'an 1460 iusque a 1483. Autrement dicte la Chronique Scandaleuse Escrite par un Greffier de l'Hostel de Paris. Imprimée sur le vray Original, M.DC.XX. 1620. Brunet, I-1877 /// (14f.)-338. New edition of the scandalous Chronicle long attributed to Jean de Troye and now returned to its true author Jean de Roye. Minor old restorations. Missing frontispiece portrait, title and first leaf damaged. Enclosed: [18th-century box case]. In-16, 70 x 110 mm, green morocco with fillets, garlands, central gilt floral medallion, smooth spine imitating the spine of a book, the whole in two vertically interlocking parts. Charming case containing a calendar for the year 1787 with sheets for notes, losses and gains.
