Curious booklet of 8 unencumbered leaves in which the author, speaking on behalf of Henri IV, addresses his son Louis XIII to warn him against the Spaniards in general and against the proposed marriage with Anne of Austria, infanta of Spain. A double Franco-Spanish marriage had been planned to bring the two countries closer together. Anne of Austria married Louis XIII on November 16, 1615 in Bordeaux, while Elisabeth, sister of Louis XIII, married the infant Philippe, son of Philippe III of Spain. Minor damage to cups.
