First edition published by Claude de Monstroeil in 1599, but of which a few copies have been published at the Tours address of Georges Griveau. This curious work contains three treatises on gymnastics, jumps and physical exercises to make the body agile, vigorous & healthy. It is illustrated with 88 woodcuts, including a fold-out hors texte, 30 full-page engravings and 57 in the text, some repeated. Ex-libris of Nicolas-Joseph Foucault and armorial stamp and ex-libris with the motto "Sapere Aude". Minor rubbing to spine and old library call number labels.
