Émile DESCHAMPS. The Young Moralist. Paris, s.n., 1826. In-8, amethyst half-maroquin with corners, spine with 4 very nicely decorated bands (Ledoux). Factitious collection of 9 articles by Émile Deschamps, which he published in La Muse Française in 1823-1824 under the signature Le Jeune Moraliste. The edition escaped Vicaire. It consists of a faux-title and title and a collection of nine articles, of which the first and last leaves have been reprinted. Émile Deschamps was a key figure in the Romantic movement, leaving behind collections of poetry, prose and plays. He contributed to the Conservateur littéraire and the Muse Française. Autograph letter signed on a flyleaf, Hommage d'une tendre / amitié à Madame anna Darlin (?) / Émile Deschamps. Quoted by Maurice Escoffier in Le Mouvement romantique (no. 611).
