The spine is a little faded; there are a few very pale freckles and the last leaf of the publisher's announcements is missing, but the copy remains of very fine, fine quality. Enclosed: HUGO. First edition. Copy incomplete of the 30-page preface. Kleinhans was a bookbinder in Paris between 1814 and 1855. Trautz worked for him. Spine faded, some leaves browned.
