In-16, blood-red glazed calf, double framed with cold-rolled borders, black fillets and gilded dots at corners, 5-rib spine beautifully decorated with cold-rolled fleurons and gilded borders, interior roulette, gilded edges (Brigandal). Vicaire, IV-231 /// XXVIII-232. First edition with a frontispiece after Devéria engraved by Godefroy. A very fine copy in a charming binding by Brigandal, a Parisian bookbinder of the first half of the 19th century. Spine a little faded and small black stain on one cover; stains on first two leaves.
