Edmond TEXIER. Tableau de Paris... Paris, Paulin et Le Cheva - Lot 224
Edmond TEXIER. Tableau de Paris... Paris, Paulin et Le Chevalier, 1852. 2 volumes in-folio, black percaline decorated on the first plate with a large gilded motif representing Notre-Dame flanked by the Vendôme and Bastille columns, on the second plate with a cold ornament, gilded spine irons, gilded edges (publisher's binding).
Lacombe, 960 /// I. (2f.)-IV-388 / II. (2f.)-396.
A work that curiously escaped Vicaire.
It is magnificently illustrated with 1,500 woodcuts, including a repeated frontispiece, a double-page spread with a view of Paris and another with a plan of Paris and its suburbs.
A fine copy, despite some unavoidable small defects to the binding. Minor old restorations, including one to the second plate of Volume I. Small split at the fold of the view of Paris.
