In-12, navy blue jansenist morocco, 4-spoke spine, amethyst morocco lining, blue silk endpapers, double endpapers, gilt edges, cover and spine, slipcase (Georges Cretté). Lh., 25 / Talvart, I, p. 47, 1A /// (4f.)-366. First edition. Copy of the first printing with the misprint "Chapitre I" p. 133, and the final printing 9-13. One of 20 copies on Hollande paper (no. 5), the only large paper with 10 Japon and a few author's copies on green paper. A very fine copy with wide margins, untrimmed, very well bound by Georges Cretté. Bookplate of Emmanuel Du Bourg de Bozas-Chaix d'Est Ange.
