Émile GALLÉ (1846–1904) Ovoid vase with a stepped body and open neck, mounted on a conical pedestal. Glass piece featuring a double layer of reddish-brown and purplish tones over a slightly opalescent yellow and whitish background, with interspersed streaks of blue, red, and yellow. Decor of seaweed and a shell, engraved in cameo using acid etching and entirely reworked with a grinding wheel on a hammered background with small facets. Signed. H. 12 cm. Neck slightly ground down, a tiny chip in the decoration, and minor material flaws.
