Papillon de La Ferté collection. This excellent draftsman, a pupil of Boucher, owned one of the finest collections of the late eighteenth century. the end of the 18th century; the catalog of his after-death sale is extremely precise: "N°81 DE BAR, Un bal champêtre champêtre composé de 26 figures formant des groupes variés et agréables". This painting must be considered one of the master's most important works, combining the spirit and color of Watteau.
