Two-figure porcelain group depicting Scaramouche and Colombine holding a cage, a pug at their feet, polychrome and gold decoration.
Marked: crossed swords in blue.
Designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler in 1740-1741.
18th century, circa 1740.
H. 17 cm.
Restoration to Colombine's left hand and Scaramouche's right hand, and chips to the tree.
This group is based on Nicolas Lancret's painting La Cage in the Louvre.
