London, Jean Nourse, 1768. 2 volumes in-12, marbled calf, triple fillet with coat of arms on covers, ornate smooth spines, interior roulette, gilt edges (Period binding). Cioranescu, I-21760 / Olivier, pl. 2160 / Quérard, I-1010 / Tchemerzine-Scheler, II-693 /// I. (1f.)-XXII-311 (misfigured 307 with pagination errors)-(1f.) / II. (1f.)-407 (with pagination errors and without leaf M3 but text follows). Second edition cited by Tchemerzine, who has not seen it. The first is said to have appeared in Liège the same year. Cioranescu cites only one edition, dated 1769. A superb copy bearing the arms of Béatrix de Choiseul-Stainville, sister of Louis XV's minister over whom she had great influence. She had built up an extensive library. She died on the scaffold on April 17, 1794. Small 1 cm split at bottom of hinge; one leaf shorter in lower margin.
