Le Père Goriot appeared in La Revue de Paris in 4 issues between December 14, 1834 and February 11, 1835. A first-edition copy without the 16-page preface, which was not supplied until a few days after the volumes were published. Spines faded and formerly foxed. Mouillure at foot of second volume, a few stains and foxing, one leaf turned up (t.I, p. 351) and 2 leaves angularly missing without affecting the text (t.I, p. 169 and t.II, p. 191).
