The first volume (Tableau historique) is "perhaps Sainte-Beuve's masterpiece" according to Carteret; the second volume is composed of selected works by Ronsard augmented by notices, notes and comments by Sainte-Beuve. A fine copy in a charming contemporary binding. Freckles, one leaf torn but not missing.
