Translation by Jacques Amyot revised and completed by Paul-Louis Courier. 47 original woodcuts by Aristide Maillol, including cover, title, printer's proof and 44 in the text. One of 500 copies on Maillol paper (no. 302), here enriched with a suite of woodcuts in bistre, including 3 in double state with variants. The suite is contained in a titled paper folder. A very fine copy. Very slight rubbing to dust jacket.
