Meissen Porcelain statuette depicting a grotesque dwarf standing on a rectangular pedestal with a bag slung over his back, decorated in gold and polychrome. 18th century, circa 1720-1725. Missing cane, chips and wear. This statuette was inspired by Martin Engelbrecht's engravings of grotesque dwarfs in the series "Il Callotto Resuscitato, oder Neu eingerichtes" published in Augsburg circa 1710-1715 by Elias Baeck, then in Amsterdam in 1716.
