Sèvres - Lot 272
Sèvres Soft-paste porcelain soup plate with polychrome decoration in the center with musical attributes and on the wing with garlands of flowers and blue and gold combed foliage. Marked : LL interlaced, letter-date V for 1774, marks of painters Jacques Fontaine and Raux and gilder Vandé on the other. 18th century, 1774. D. 24 cm. Provenance: This plate comes from the service en attribut et guirlandes delivered on June 23, 1774 to milord Findlater, James Ogilvy, Earl of Findlater. Originally comprising 24 soup plates, a large part of the service was sold at Christie's in London on July 14, 1958, when it comprised 22 soup plates. These 22 plates are now kept at Hinton Ampner.
