Sèvres An early soft-paste porcelain litron beaker and saucer with polychrome decoration on the beaker of a scene depicting Venus asking Vulcan for weapons for her son Aeneas, and in the center of the saucer of Galatea's triumph over a dolphin, surrounded by a naiad and two loves, in reserves on a beautiful blue background decorated with gold foliage scrolls and garlands. Marked: LL interlaced, letter-date LL for 1788, painter's mark P.H. for Philippine, gilder's mark Vincent. 18th century, 1788. H. 7.5 cm, D. 14 cm. On the reverse, label from the Daniel M.G. Tessier collection.
