SABRE D'OFFICIER DE CAVALERIE LEGERE MODELE AN IX OU AN XI, brass hunter-style frame with fillet underlining, three-pronged hilt joining an almond-shaped bar, curved quillon, long-tailed cap, wooden handle covered with basane and three-thread twisted filigree, curved blade with hollow sides, flat back and counter-edge, blued and engraved in the first third with flowers and foliage surrounded by gold; steel scabbard with two brass bracelets. Empire period, circa 1800-1810. Blade length: 86 cm. Total length (with scabbard): 102 cm. Wear, blade repolished, scabbard probably later.
